Congratulations to kindergarten teacher Ms. Meredith Leech on being recognized as the January 2022 Region 4 FCPS CARES Recipient of the Month by the FCPS Department of Human Resources.

Below is the write up submitted by a Hunt Valley Elementary School parent.

My kindergartner loves being outside. She is an adventurer who takes advantage of nature's gifts in every season, but this year her biggest wish was for snow. After a long winter break in quarantine trying to make the holiday special for our kids despite cancelled plans, the snow out the window brought a smile to all of our faces! After hours of playing outside and shoveling snow, I opened my email and was surprised to see an email from my daughter's teacher Ms. Leech. Apparently my daughter had been sharing her sadness and frustration about the lack of snow every day in December. Meredith Leech's first thought upon seeing the snow outside was that my daughter had finally had her wish granted. She could have dismissed this thought and gone about her snow day, but Meredith took the time out of her schedule to connect with us and let us know she was thinking of our daughter. After two weeks of feeling so isolated, her simple communication was incredibly appreciated. Thank you for making such an incredible difference in the lives of my daughter and our family.
